SPECIES DESCRIPTION: Native to the Mediterranean, this bulbous perennial is naturalized in SW England and S Wales and sometimes cultivated, although it is invasive. Found in woods and hedgerows. Flower stems are triangular in section. Inflorescences are one-sided umbels with 3-15 flowers which are white with green veins. All parts of the plant have a strong garlic smell when crushed.
USES: All parts of the plant are edible and taste somewhat like garlic.
